  • Mainly for Aunt Ellie...

    Photobucket

Just a quick recap of what went on this week. :)
    Week 8

    Photobucket
We had Nature Study and lots of Nature Walks..

    Photobucket
    We had Bible.

    Photobucket
We read about Lunar Eclispe's and studied David Livingston. And went to our church's On Mission Celebration every night. We listened to missionaries talk about other countries and cell groups held in unchurched areas of the US.

    Photobucket
Natalie read 4 Chapters from Winnie the Pooh, 1 chapter of A Child's History of the World, began the Red Fairy Book and lots of Usborne's Book of World History for fun. She also completed 4 lessons in Math, 4 pages in Explode the Code, Copied 3 poems and did 4 pages of Classically Cursive. She is catching on to cursive quickly and has begun to write words in her copywork in cursive. She does quite well.

    Photobucket
Logan narrated 2 stories from Aesops Fables, Copied 2 poems from A Childs Garden of Verses, completed 4 lessons in math, 4 lessons in Explode the Code and 4 pages of handwritting. He's reading Emeril Serils Work Day Doings on the Farm.

    Photobucket
Benjamin had no formal lessons this week. He needed his naptime.

    Photobucket
And Jadon was just cute. :) Most of his daily work is in the diaper pail. LOL

  • 13 Random-ness-es on the 13th

    1. Saturday is cleaning day here at the W's Mansion. What fun. Only I discovered that I didnt have the pad deals nor the spray stuff for my swiffer! Grr.. Oh well. So I put away the weeks laundry, swept the floors (even behind the couches!) and then I realized that we dont have a vaccum so I stopped for a minute. And here I am! I still need to clean bathrooms and then I'll be satisfied. :) Those morning room checks are really making a huge difference. :)
    2. I've also just realized that we are through with the second trimester!! Wow! That went quick! Its so funny to me because when we were pregnant with Natalie I remember thinking she would just never get here and now Im thinking that Baby Girl needs to slow down.
    3. A quick prayer request.. We will have another ultrasound for Baby Girl a week from Monday. Something isnt right because baby is about 3 weeks behind my uterus size. My period date says Dec 28th and her size says Jan 6 and my uterus has a whole nother due date! Im all wonky. *Yes, dear husband I just used the word "wonky".. Im sure that everything is okay. Baby Girl is such a kicker Im sure she will be born with all the W's gusto but not necessarily the size. :)
    4. Been thinking alot about saving money. We've been spending alot lately and we are living beyond our means. And that isnt going to get better anytime soon. Luckily we've had a nice savings to use so we've not racked the credit card debt but I've been trying to force myself to be more careful, bake more bread, and pull out those nasty cloth diapers to use part time. Yuck.
    5. Have I told you how much I dont want to use Cloth diapers right now? I dont. But I think I can reduce our diaper budget by about $25 a month if I use them during the daytime when we are home on Jadon and Baby Girl when she arrives. Anyone have any cute girlie diaper covers to donate? LOL
    6. Baking bread. I've tried two loaves now and am not pleased with the results. Im still a slave to my bread maker as I dont have a good mixer and I've had zero success doing it by hand. The top of my bread comes out all craggy. But I just read that if your using ACTIVE DRY yeast you need to add the yeast to the water, not on top of the flour like the reccomended bread maker yeast.
    7. Being careful.. We've been doing the envelope system for awhile now on groceries and that's not the issue. I think my problem is allowing too many special trips to Sam's and Redeemed Music and Books when I go to my Dr. Appointments. Im going to have to cut that out. We have also cut all our extra trips to "town" (30 min away). I'm trying to go just once a month for homeschool group play days (which will end in the winter time) and once a month for groceries. Then I go to the Dr. once a month, or twice lately and probably till the end, which is an hour away. While Im there I pick up groceries. Its a challange only leaving the house 4 times a month. :) But we are getting a ton of school work done which is good.
    8. Today is my Kis-A-Versary with the Husband! We've been smoochin for 11 years now! Whoot! And its been fun..
    9. Next month is our anniversary. I hope to get a weekend away with my best friend..The Husband. He's such a handsome, intelligent, strong man and Im glad the Lord ordained for us to be together. :_
    10. Wanna know some baby names in the running? Good, Im glad your interested but IM NOT TELLIN' :P
    11. The kids are really getting into Dominoes right now. Actually I think that Logan has yet to be beat! They are actually playing with Dad right now. ;)
    12. Natalie LOVES her new bed! And she slept solidly for the first time since January. That air mattress must not be comfortable.
    13. The grand finale? We are having homemade Pizza tonight for dinner! With Salad and Fruit! And for lunch, which I need to get up and make.. We're having Quesodillas, cantaloupe, and chips and salsa. :) Oh and Im going to make cookies with Natalie for dessert tonight. Tomorrow we're having roasted chicken. :)
Have a happy day! and Kiss your Husband its MY Kiss-a-versary!
